chapter 1
is starting off the story by saying that he had a mother and a father but they went out for the night.they left jeffrey with a baby sitter while they took the high speed trolley into the city. But on the way back the conductor of the trolley was drunk and went way to fast over a bridge. After that he became and orphan and got sent off to his closest relitive aunt dot and uncle dan. Aunt dot and unlce dan hated eachother but they wouldnt get a divorce because they were very strong catholics. Jeffrey was in a musical but he went on singing after everyone stopped and he was caught singing by himself very loudly and in a screaming voice. He ran away and never returned to tht school again.
chapter 4
i think this chapter was about jeffrey returning to a gym class and yhe finds the football all the football players were playing with and he kicks us perfectly back into the receivers hands. than jeffrey ran away again.

In chapter jeffrey got his name maniac and everyone was talking about how he was a maniac. He intercepted the quarterbacks throw to the receiver and kicked it back way farther than the quarter back can throw it. After that day maniac magie was a legend.
